College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Sierra Leone

The ReBUILD Consortium partner in Sierra Leone is the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS).



The College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS), the first medical school in Sierra Leone was founded on 12th April 1988 by the Government of Sierra Leone (GOSL) with the Nigerian Government and the World Health Organization (WHO). In 2005, COMAHS became a constituent arm of the University of Sierra Leone, and incorporated the National School of Nursing as the Faculty of Nursing and the Pharmacy Technician School as part of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. COMAHS is also the centre of a network of medical education in Sierra Leone and the West African sub region, drawing students from the Gambia, Liberia and Guinea.
